In a very high scoring game Eagley batted first and amassed 282 for 6 with O'Rouke 85 and Mike Ward 53 the main contributors. It was an excellent chase by the Barrow team who won by 7 wickets.

Eagley v Farnworth - League

It was a close match in the rain with Farnorth batting first and scoring 170 all out thanks to contributionas from Rayment 66 and White 54. O'Rouke took 5 wickets in the innings. In reply Eagley got off to a good start thanks to some mediocre bowling and the target looked easy. Then wickets started falling and it became a tense affair. Eagley were the eventual winners with a good late contribution from Robinson.

Horwich v Eagley - League

Eagley batting first scored a modest 171 for 5 on a seaming wicket. The wicket was such that the batsmen were never "in" as it show with most players scoring good runs, but not going on to a big total. Stever Foster stole the show again as he bowled through for his 5 wickets and reduced Horwich to 114 all out.

Eagley v Bradshaw - League

Eagley 141-6. Good start from Chuck and Ian Helliwell, 60-0 off 13. Then Matt Dearden and Matt Mcguiness were introduced into the attack and one run came off the next seven overs for the loss of four wickets. Dave Shuttleworth held the middle order together with 39 to give Eagley a more respectable score from their 37 overs.

Bradshaw started well but lost three quick wickets to put Eagley back in the game at 62-3, but Nayar was on fire. His first 50 came off 29 ball, and he finished 70 not out to win the game with 10 overs left as Bradshaw won by 5 wickets.

Fulwood V Eagley - National KO

Eagley scored a massive 8 wicket victory over the Palace Shield team with Nathan Blair & Phil McDermott being the main contributors with the bat. The bowling was tight, which restricted Fulwood to 124 all out.  Eagley are away to Lytham in the next round.

Eagley v Farnworth - League

Farnworth won the toss and decided to field first on a very dry grassy wicket. Eagley openers had a good start from Ian Helliwel and Mike O'Rouke, who scored another fifty. Parchment bowled through for his five wickets. Farnworth's only managed 163 in reply and showed very little dedication after Parchment 79 & David Tonge 44 were out. Steve Foster achieved the hat-rick dismissing Tonge, Childs & Hyde and finished with 7 wickets and ultimately saw the home side to victory. An inspired spell from Mark Warren helped the Eagley team keep the pressure on the visitors.

Mike O'Rouke

The Eagley professional, Michael O'Rourke has become only the 19th player in Bolton League history to make 10,000 runs.

The former New South Wales U17's captain needed just 16 runs to pass the landmark going into Sunday's Hamer Cup clash with Heaton and achieved that with an innings of 25.

It's fitting because 'Chook' has just been awarded a benefit game on Friday July 27th at Eagley.
It's the Aussie's 11th season in the Bolton League and he's performed with distinction for the Blackburn Road outfit as well as Greenmount and Egerton where he began his spell in English cricket.

The match, which is likely to be 25 overs per side, will begin at 4pm.
It's expected to take the form of an Invitational XI against a star-studded Rest of the World XI.


Eagley v Heaton - Hamer Cup

The woes continued on Sunday as Eagley crashed out of the Hamer Cup at the hands of Heaton, who produced an excellent performance on the day. Batting first the Heaton side scored 246 for 8 with Rick Parry scoring 73 and pro Akhil 57. Steve Foster claimed 5 victims. Eagley were bowled out for a disappointing 81.

Eagley only managed 161 all out in their innings with Dave Smith taking 4 wickets. Walkden in reply passed the total with the loss of only 1 wicket. Dave Smith scoring an unbeaten 68.

Eagley batting first, scored a very respectable 279 for 9, with professional Mike O'Rouke scoring a huge 160. In reply, Steve Entwistle blasted 72, but this was not enough as the home side came up short and ending on 237. Steve Foster showed some form with the ball claiming 4 wickets.

Morecombe v Eagley - National KO

Eagley batted first in their Cockspur National Knockout games against Northern League side Morecombe. In a game reduced to 36 overs, Eagley scored 134 for 8 with Andy Robinson scored 31 and Danny Councell 20. In reply, Morecombe only managed 70 all out as the Eagley attacked led by young Cunliffe with 3 wickets, powered their way to victory.

The rain ended the proceeding at Longworth Road with the game delicately poised. Eagley batted first and thanks mainly to a brilliant 91 from Professional, Mike O'Rouke they posted a respectable 192 all out with Fernando and Howarth taking 4 wickets apiece. Egerton reached 72 for 3 before the rain arrived.

The rain was the winner at the Dunscar ground today where Eagley entertained Westhoughton. Only 26 overs were bowled in the Eagley innings before the rain intervened which left the home team stranded on 88 for 4. It was a welcome return to the Bolton League for Westhoughton professional Antonio Mayes, who claimed 3 wickets.

Eagley batted first at Castle Hill and produced a competitive 218 with all the batsmen contributing. Nisar took 5 wickets. Tonge chased down the runs with half-centuries from Nisar, Matt Fray and Adam Street.

Eagley lost wickets at regular intervals in their opening match against Greenmount and although Mark Warren scored an excellent 62, the total of 179 was not enough to stop Greenmount romping to victory. Greenmount professional, Zaidi had a great day taking 4 wickets and scoring 71 runs to help his side to victory by 6 wickets.
